Washington DC (day three)

We started the third day with a tour of the White House and Capitol.

We also visited the Air and Space Museum.

The actual original plane the Wright Brothers flew is housed here!

The Museum of Natural History was a hit!

The Museum of Natural History is where the Hope Diamond is kept.

A few of the kids gathered for a photo op!

They had a live butterfly exhibit-I had a blast in there!

The scarecrow's hat and boots from Wizard of Oz are shown here!

Washington DC (day two)

Our first stop in Washington DC was the Holocaust Museum.

We saw some beautiful blooming orchids.

We also visited several art museums. These rooms were filled with lights with those colors, and the walls were painted a particularly bright white so the colors would reflect.

This particular exhibit was centered around "experiencing art". The blue strands shown below were meant to walk through to "feel" this piece of art. They were rubbery, similar to what I would imagine a carwash to be like.

At the end of the day we visited Union Station to eat. Outside, the Capitol was well lit.

We also visited the Jefferson Monument.

The Washington Monument was beautiful to see at night as well.
